About Me

Hi! I’m Keira (they/them). I’m a white, neurodivergent, LGBTQ2S+ person and settler born on Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee territory, and I’ve been living on Lekwungen territory (otherwise known as Victoria) for over 10 years.

I became a counsellor after many years on my own healing journey. I am a survivor of complex trauma, grief and loss, chronic pain, and chronic illness. I believe that an integral part of being an effective counsellor is to continue to receive my own personal counselling and to ‘walk the walk.’

Outside of my practice at Wholeness Counselling I have also worked at the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre counselling survivors of sexualized violence and abuse.

I aim to foster an environment that is inclusive, safe, and healing for BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+ people, neurodivergent folks, and disabled people. I also work with clients who are in a variety of relationship structures, including consensual non-monogamy.

Qualifications

Training

Aside from counselling…

I have a background in holistic nutrition and activism in social and environmental justice movements. I take a holistic view of mental health and believe mental health is affected not only by the circumstances of our lives, our relationships, our environment, and our physical bodies but also by the systems we live within.

When not counselling you can find me hiking in nature, making sourdough bread or other recipes from scratch, and spending time with my partner and our two cats Helix and Burrito.
